As we produce our own beef we have full traceability and always have the ear tag number displayed in the shop. In addition we sell locally produced outdoor pork and local Yorkshire lamb. We also have a full game licence and always stock venison from Round Green Venison Farm and wild boar, ostrich, and during the shooting season we have all local game.
Apart from boasting a full butchery department with three full time butchers, thus been able to offer any cut you may desire - a novelty in these days of pre-packed food. We also make all our own sausage using only quality meat - no rubbish if I wouldn't eat it I certainly wouldn't expect my customers to. You are also able to get home produced dry-cured bacon, in plain, sweet or smoked. In 2004 we started making all our own pork pies and Aberdeen Angus steak pies on site again using all our own meat and ensuring quality through and through. We recently featured on Channel 4 Prime time TV Show 'Richard and Judy' with our liquorice pork pies, with rave reviews "a belting pork pie". |

find out more | | Boneless Leg Of Pork | | Farmer Copleys Pontefract Cheese £4.78 This is made using Jersey cows milk and then adding ground liquorice root to the cheese at the last moment thus ensuring that the liquorice is throughout the cheese. This is to our knowledge the only liquorice cheese with liquorice in it, and if I do say so myself it edible and actually really nice. Once you get a taste for it you will be hooked.

Our Rib Of Beef on the bone has to be my favourite roasting joint, the fat on the joint means the taste is exceptional. Try rubbing plain flour, mustard powder and salt & pepper into the fat on top and baste a few times whilst cooking, makes the most fantastic crust. And remeber to rest the joint for at least 20mins the bones keep it warm.
